Overview

Seven banks operate in the county with assets ranging into the billions of dollars. These include Suntrust, Virginia National Bank, Second Bank & Trust, BB&T, Bank of America, Virginia Community Bank, and Wachovia Bank. Commercial bank deposits exceed $225 million.

Financing for qualifying economic development projects can be arranged with area banks and financial institutions through Orange County's Industrial Development Authority (IDA). Industrial bond financing and other related state and federal financing services are available to the IDA in assisting business and industry establishments with new locations or expansions.
