The Virginia General Assembly created the Enterprise Zone program to encourage business and industrial growth in selected Virginia towns, cities and counties, which would result in an increase of economic activity and create jobs within the community.
The Town of Orange was officially designated as an Enterprise Zone in January, 1996. The zone represents a State and Town partnership that offers a package of incentives for business development and expansion. Either existing businesses or new businesses can qualify for Enterprise Zone incentives.
Where is the Zone?
The Orange Enterprise Zone consists of 18 acres of commercial, residential, industrial and institutional property accounting for almost 15% of the Town's total acreage. The Orange Enterprise Zone includes; commercial and industrial buildings suited for a variety of business needs, and open land sites available with utilities in place, offering various lease, purchase, or build-to-suit options.
